We love a breakthrough. God seems to do a lot with ordinary mornings.
Lamentations was written in the middle of loss, and somehow this is what it says: God’s mercies are new every morning. Not because yesterday went perfectly. Not because we finally got ourselves together. Simply because He is faithful.
I love that.
The gospel gives us somewhere softer to begin again. We don’t wake up each morning needing to prove we’re better than yesterday. Grace already got there first.
Some days we thrive. Some days showing up is the whole win. Most of becoming happens somewhere in between — one ordinary day after another, with a God who keeps meeting us there.
So we come back.
